My Story
Born and raised in Peel, i'm a mother of 3 and a grandma of 1.
I had my first child as a teen, with little help and understanding of any type of comfort techniques or styles. I was pretty lucky to have that birth turn out so well.
My second pregnancy was twins. This is when I could have benefitted from having a support person to work with me on achieving the best birth outcome. What ended up happening left me unsatisfied.
After life with twins and and meeting other parents of multiples is the first time I heard of a Doula. This intrigued me and led me to start my path as a Birth and Labor Doula.
Choosing to change my career path has been a tremendously exciting and rewarding time in my life, and I know I am nowhere near done learning! Lovechild is really my way to help clients with their best birth outcome.
My Training
I am a very giving person and I want to ensure that all my clients are receiving 100 % of my time and energy that they need. I know how difficult labor can be and I strive to be patient and understanding to what my client is feeling both physically and mentally.
That being said, I have no problem being a little firm when the time comes , and reminding everyone what our ultimate goal is- bringing baby into the world! Not an easy task - so if I need to get the birthing person and partner motivated again, thats what i'm here for!
A Doula is not a replacement for a partner , but rather an additional member to a team working together. I'm here to lend support to the birthing partner as well as they go through this journey with the birthing person.
